Can I get pregnant by dry humping?

I'm quite worried about a recent sexual experience, which was my first time engaging in any sexual activity. My boyfriend and I engaged in dry humping with our clothes on. I was wearing underwear and cargo pants, while he was wearing shorts and underwear. Although he didn't ejaculate, there was a small spot of precum in his underwear. Two hours after this encounter, I got my period, which lasted for 8 days (one day longer than usual and heavier than normal). I'm concerned if there's any possibility of pregnancy from this situation.

We understand that this situation might be causing you a lot of worry and stress, especially if it was your first time experiencing something like this. It’s completely normal to have questions and concerns about your sexual health, and we’re here to provide you with the information and support you need.

It’s essential to remember that pregnancy can only occur if sperm comes into direct contact with the vagina during or around the time of ovulation. From what you’ve described, there was no direct contact between sperm and your vagina. Dry humping, with both of you wearing clothes, significantly reduces the chances of pregnancy.

Additionally, you mentioned that you got your period only two hours after the incident. It’s crucial to understand that getting your period is a clear indication that you are not pregnant. During menstruation, the uterine lining sheds because there was no fertilised egg to develop into a pregnancy.

Spotting a little precum from your partner’s underwear also minimises the possibility of pregnancy since precum usually contains a very low concentration of sperm, and it is unlikely to survive outside the body for an extended period.

Given the circumstances you’ve described, the chances of you being pregnant are incredibly low. It’s normal to experience variations in your menstrual cycle from time to time, so having your period a day longer than usual or experiencing a heavier flow occasionally is not uncommon.

If you still have concerns or find yourself anxious about the situation, we highly recommend consulting a healthcare professional. They can provide personalised advice and address any other sexual health questions you may have. Remember, it is ok to seek help from a healthcare expert when it comes to your well-being and peace of mind.

In the future, it’s essential to be proactive about contraception to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Using barrier methods like condoms or considering other forms of birth control can help ensure your sexual experiences are worry-free.

Take this opportunity to educate yourself about safe sexual practices and contraception. Remember, knowledge is empowering, and it allows you to make informed decisions.

If you have any more questions or need further clarification, don’t hesitate to ask. Wishing you the best of health and happiness in your journey ahead!
