MS (Clinical psychology)7 years of experience

We understand how difficult it must be for both of you to face these challenges in your married life. It’s important to remember that you’re not alone in experiencing sexual concerns, and seeking help is a positive step towards finding a solution. Let’s address your concern with empathy and provide some guidance.

It seems like your husband is facing difficulty ejaculating during intercourse, even though he can do so while masturbating. This can be a frustrating and distressing situation. From what you’ve described, it’s possible that there could be psychological factors at play, affecting his ability to maintain an erection and enjoy the experience fully.

Sometimes, performance anxiety, stress, or other emotional concerns can lead to such difficulties in the bedroom. It’s also worth considering any relationship or communication concerns that might be contributing to the problem.

Open and honest communication between partners is crucial in such situations. It’s essential that both of you talk openly about your feelings, desires, and concerns regarding your sexual experiences. Being supportive and understanding towards each other can help create a safe space to address the concern together.

It’s important to remember that sexual worries are not uncommon in relationships and can often be resolved with time, patience, and the right approach. Don’t blame yourselves or each other for the situation; instead, focus on finding a solution together as a team.

While we can provide some guidance, I must emphasise the significance of seeking professional help. Sexual difficulties can have various underlying causes, and consulting a qualified healthcare professional, such as a sex therapist or urologist, is the best course of action.

A professional can conduct a thorough assessment and provide personalised advice tailored to your husband’s specific situation. They can help address any physical, psychological, or emotional factors contributing to the concern.

Remember, seeking professional help doesn’t mean there’s something inherently wrong with either of you; it’s a proactive step towards enhancing your intimate life and overall well-being.

Can Ovarian Cyst Cause Infertility?
In some cases, ovarian cysts can interfere with fertility, but it depends on the type and size of the cyst. Functional cysts, which are the most common type and typically resolve on their own, are unlikely to cause infertility. However, certain types of cysts, such as endometriomas or ovarian cysts associated with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), can disrupt normal ovarian function and potentially affect fertility. Additionally, large cysts or cysts that cause structural changes to the ovaries or fallopian tubes can interfere with the release of eggs or the fertilisation process. If you have concerns about ovarian cysts and fertility, it's best to consult with a healthcare provider specialising in reproductive health.

How To Test If A Woman Is Infertile?
To test for female infertility, the following tests are commonly conducted: Medical history and physical examination: The healthcare provider discusses the medical history and performs a physical examination to identify any visible signs of reproductive health issues. Ovulation evaluation: Tests such as basal body temperature charting, ovulation predictor kits, blood hormone level tests, or ultrasound monitoring are used to assess regular ovulation. Hormone level testing: Blood tests measure hormone levels related to fertility, such as FSH, LH, oestrogen, and progesterone. Hysterosalpingography (HSG): An X-ray procedure that examines the uterus and fallopian tubes to check for structural abnormalities or blockages. Transvaginal ultrasound: An ultrasound probe inserted into the vagina to visualise the reproductive organs for abnormalities. Laparoscopy: A surgical procedure using a camera to directly examine the pelvic organs for any issues. Ovarian reserve testing: Blood tests and ultrasounds measure hormone levels and the number of remaining follicles in the ovaries to assess egg quantity and quality. The specific tests may vary based on individual circumstances. Consulting with a healthcare provider specialising in reproductive medicine or fertility will guide you through the appropriate testing process based on your specific situation.

What Causes Vaginal Dryness?
Vaginal dryness can have multiple causes, including: Hormonal changes: The most common cause of vaginal dryness is a decrease in oestrogen levels, which can occur during menopause, breastfeeding, or certain medical treatments, such as cancer treatments that affect hormone levels. Medications: Certain medications, such as hormonal birth control methods, antihistamines, and some antidepressants, can contribute to vaginal dryness as a side effect. Stress and anxiety: Psychological factors can impact vaginal lubrication, and increased stress or anxiety levels can lead to reduced natural lubrication. Sjgren's syndrome: This autoimmune disorder can cause vaginal dryness as well as dryness in other areas of the body, including the mouth and eyes. Treatment for vaginal dryness depends on the underlying cause. Options may include over-the-counter or prescription lubricants, hormone therapy (such as oestrogen creams or vaginal rings), or addressing any underlying medical conditions contributing to the dryness. It's best to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the cause and appropriate treatment options for your specific situation.
